The Hajj Process Step by Step
For a pilgrim from Bangladesh the Hajj process runs: pre-register and register on the government Hajj portal, attend training and take the vaccines, fly to Jeddah or Madinah, perform Umrah (Tamattu), then from 8 Dhul Hijjah go to Mina, Arafah and Muzdalifah, stone the Jamarat, sacrifice, shave, perform Tawaf al-Ifadah and finally the farewell tawaf.

The days of Hajj
- Before 8 Dhul Hijjah: arrive, perform Umrah (for Tamattu) and leave ihram.
- 8 Dhul Hijjah: enter ihram for Hajj, go to Mina, pray Dhuhr to Fajr there.
- 9 Dhul Hijjah: go to Arafah; stand in dua from after midday until sunset; pray Dhuhr and Asr combined. After sunset go to Muzdalifah, pray Maghrib and Isha combined, spend the night, collect pebbles.
- 10 Dhul Hijjah: stone Jamarat al-Aqabah with seven pebbles, offer the sacrifice, shave or shorten the hair, then perform Tawaf al-Ifadah and sa'i.
- 11–12 (13) Dhul Hijjah: stay in Mina and stone all three Jamarat after midday each day; you may leave on the 12th before sunset.
- Before leaving Makkah: perform the farewell tawaf (Tawaf al-Wada).
Hanafi school: for Tamattu and Qiran pilgrims the order on the 10th (stoning, then sacrifice, then shaving) is wajib; changing it requires a dam. Other schools treat the order as sunnah.
