Khulna has no airport of its own, but the Padma Bridge has made the trip to Dhaka far shorter than it used to be. Our Umrah packages depart from Dhaka, and by road over the bridge the journey now takes around four to five hours. If you would rather fly, Jashore Airport is about an hour and a half away and has several flights to Dhaka a day. Trains between Khulna and Dhaka now also cross the river on the Padma rail link.

Give yourself a margin: the highway around the Bhanga interchange and the bridge approaches can slow right down before Eid and other holidays. Khulna’s Regional Passport Office handles e-passport enrolment, and the meningococcal vaccine needed for Umrah is available in the city. If you are travelling with older relatives, a night in Dhaka before the flight makes the day of departure far less tiring.
