Duas for Hajj, Day by Day

The core words of Hajj are the intention and the talbiyah from the miqat until stoning on the 10th, the dhikr "La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah…" which the Prophet ﷺ called the best dua of Arafah, "Allahu akbar" with each pebble at the Jamarat, and the takbir of Tashreeq after the prayers. The tawaf and sa'i duas are the same as in Umrah.

Intention for Hajj (on 8 Dhul Hijjah, for Tamattu)

Labbayk Allāhumma ḥajjan.

Meaning: Here I am, O Allah, for Hajj.

Talbiyah (Bukhari, Muslim)

Meaning: Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. All praise and blessings are Yours, and all sovereignty. You have no partner.

The best dua of the Day of Arafah (Tirmidhi)

Lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu wa huwa ʿalā kulli shay’in qadīr.

Meaning: There is no god but Allah alone, without partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things.

With each pebble at the Jamarat (Bukhari)

Allāhu akbar.

Meaning: Allah is the Greatest.

Takbir of the days of Tashreeq (reported from Ibn Masʿūd (Ibn Abi Shaybah))

Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, lā ilāha illallāh, wallāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar wa lillāhil-ḥamd.

Meaning: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest; there is no god but Allah; Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise.
