The flight saves a long day on the road; if you take it, book one that lands in Dhaka at least four hours before the Jeddah departure, or fly the day before. From Thanchi and Ruma, hill roads can close after heavy rain, so start a day earlier in the monsoon.
Lama and Alikadam are closer to the Chattogram–Cox’s Bazar highway than to Bandarban town, so the quickest way out is often west to the highway rather than through the district headquarters.
