From the town, buses run via Ghagra and Raozan to Chattogram and on to Dhaka along the Dhaka–Chattogram highway. Many pilgrims break the journey: they go to Chattogram, then take a domestic flight from Shah Amanat International Airport to Dhaka. From the lake upazilas, boats to Rangamati town run on fixed schedules and mostly in daylight, so the first leg can take much of a day.
If you live on the far side of the lake, plan to spend a night in Rangamati town or Chattogram before the domestic flight or the bus. Keep your documents in a waterproof bag for the boat.
